MJ Bach was raised in the suburbs of Minneapolis. With influences from John Prine to Ben Gibbard, she has always been inspired by storytellers. When she got a Taylor guitar for he 16th birthday, she started writing songs and performing in the youth group band at church. While attending college at St Ben’s, MJ challenged herself to play original songs on stage at least once a month. After college, she spent a summer as an intern at Dreamacres Farm, pulling weeds, playing music, and making pizzas. Since then, she has lived and worked every corner of Minnesota as a botanist and outdoor educator, writing songs that tell the stories of small towns and the people who live there. When MJ settled in the St Cloud area to teach middle school science, she bumped into Jake at an Open mic night.
Jake Hagedorn (aka Jake Braking) picked up the guitar at 13 years old having already impressed many with his singing voice. Largely self-taught in his teen years, Jake went on to study at Gustavus Adolphus College until moving to the St Cloud area in 2001. In demand as a vocalist & guitarist, he maintains a busy performance schedule in the Americana group Broken Fiddle, modern rock band Dirty Mercury & now performing with MJ. You might know him from Beatles tribute The Revolution 5. Jake also enjoys theatre and plays bass in various orchestra pits. Somehow he finds time to work as a postal carrier on top of all this!
MJ & Jake have an undeniable chemistry that guarantees to charm & entertain! Combining their respective songwriting prowess with a knack for interpreting both modern & classic male-female duets, they will keep you enthralled. Grab your sweetie and make it a date night!
