Eric Hagen’s brand of Americana music is steeped in American roots, blues, rock, and country.
The Door County, WI-based singer-songwriter has been writing and performing a delicate blend of intimate, vulnerable lyrics and musical hooks. He is often praised for his powerful vocals which act as both a storytelling tool and an instrument.
Hagen has always been around music in some form or fashion. His first words may have even been “Hey Jude”. He grew up listening to records his parents played including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Dylan. Many timeless records still influence his music today in combination with newer artists such as Jason Isbell and Chris Stapleton.
2020 saw the unprecedented times of a pandemic but inspired Hagen to focus on writing. In late 2020, Hagen began writing and recording what would become his latest EP, “Crossroads Motel”, with a star-studded socially distanced band he refers to as Red River Revival. Co-Produced by Marcus Trana (Genevieve Heyward, Deathfolk) the EP is full-on Americana steeped in Rock, Blues, and Country. The band features Hagen on vocals and guitar, Trana on Drums, Nashville session player Patrick Lyons (Colter Wall, Cody Jinks), and Norway-based guitarist Stian Nilsen.
